30 Gardening Tips You Need to Know

14. Wet work

Everyone knows that one of the most difficult and exhausting parts of horticulture is removing and cutting those dead leaves and twigs from their beloved garden. We’ve all been there: sweaty and exhausted trying to get the weeds off the ground, in the end we have our hands red and sore from the burning work.

But a simple trick to make it a little easier is to do it when the ground is wet. Wait for a rainy day to help you in this activity or water your garden and start. You’ll find a much simpler experience, albeit a little cloudy! Remember that natural herbicide based on white vinegar, water (to decrease acidity, otherwise it would be harmful to the soil) and coarse salt also works very well. In terms of quantity, the volume of water should be 2.5 times that of vinegar and 5 times that of salt.
