In March 2020, an anonymous tipster told The Sun, one of the newspapers Harry and Meghan no longer spoke to, that the couple had quickly left Canada. Apparently, world events at the time had been forcing the issue, as non-essential travel was about to be restricted across borders.

The source explained, “Harry and Meghan have left Canada now for good. Borders were closing and flights were being stopped. They had to get out. But this move was planned for some time. They realized that Canada wouldn’t work for various reasons, and they want to base themselves in the Los Angeles area.”
