Cities that never existed but haunted the world

3. Utopia

Utopia is an imaginary island that gave its name to the homonymous novel written by Thomas More in 1516. The fame achieved by this imaginary city is such that it has given its name to a literary genre that continues to produce new works. In Utopia there was no private property, everyone lived happily and had the same space. This has been one of the main models of alternative society in the Modern Age. If you have never imagined a perfect and totally egalitarian place, you have not read this book. It is the magic of the cities that never existed.
