Cities that never existed but haunted the world

6. Kalahari

Guillermo Farini was the first Westerner to cross the Kalahari Basin in 1885. On his return he showed photographs of archaeological remains that presumably housed a highly developed civilization. During the 20th century, several expeditions were made to find the site of the mysterious city, all of them unsuccessful. For the time being, nothing is known of the great city of the Kalahari. One of the incredible cities that never existed.

7. El Dorado

It is no secret that the colonization of America had to do with the desire to find gold and exploit it. The myth of El Dorado as a city of great gold riches and later a kingdom was popular during the 16th century, especially among the Spanish conquistadors. All the expeditions that were made to locate the kingdom had a disastrous result. However, El Dorado has remained as one of the great myths of colonization.
